My journey

Hi, my name is Jennifer! Welcome to my blog! I would like to briefly introduce myself to all of you readers. I am an Italian-American woman, born and raised in Florence, Italy, and I’ve been living in the United States for the past ten years. Yikes! It’s already been a decade! Hard to believe, sometimes.

I moved to the States to complete my undergraduate and then graduate education, and in the meantime, I found the love of my life and started a family. I have two wonderful boys who are the light of my life and who certainly keep me on my toes. There is never a dull moment around the house and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

In this blog I’d love to talk + write about all sorts of things that touch upon family—whether it be parenting and working full time, traveling with kids, being a student, mom, and wife, or how to maintain some sort of sanity throughout motherhood. It’s certainly not easy, but it definitely it possible. I love learning new languages, traveling, spending time with family + friends, and food. There can never be enough food. Like ever! Coming from Italy, cuisine is a huge part of my life, so there will be lots and lots of food posts to come. Travel is also a very important aspect of my life, since I’ve been doing it for as long as I can remember. And now, I get to do it with kids… I have LOTS of tips and tricks to help parents who travel with children, including best travel times, what to bring / not to bring on a trip, health concerns, and more.

Let me close this introductory page with a quote that has resonated with me from the first moment I read it:

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

Henry David Thoreau

If we can envision something, we can do it. We just need to take one step at a time and find our support group.

Happy reading, and thanks for following along!
